Palouse 2024

I had a wonderful time doing a weeklong photography workshop with Nick Page in the Palouse in June of this year. Nick is an amazing photographer and native to the area so we not only shot some of the best locations in great light, but also learned quite a bit about the region. Its one of the more unique locations I’ve photographed and glad I was finally able to make it there. Most of the landscape is covered with wheat and various other bean crops. I included the usual suspects like the lovely winding hills but also did a few close up shots of the crops. My favorite shot is the lone tree in the beanfield. this was early morning shoot and just amazing light. My next favorite shot almost didn’t happen, the grain elevator and small town scene with reflected railroad tracks in a slot sunset. This was a rush to this location chasing the light, dashing our trucks on dusty dirt roads to make it to this location just in time to get sunset! Met some great photographers and made some new friends. I highly recommend this area if you can make it.
