I spent the week of Oct 20th in Townsend TN shooting the Smoky Mountains. This was my 4th trip to the park in 10 years. I continue to be impressed with the beauty of the park. On arrival I was afraid the color would be more muted than the prior year, but the colors turned quickly hitting peak by the end of the week. I continue to experiment with long exposure. The trail at Elkmont continues to impress me with the reflections of color in the river. The first image is one of my favorites from my visits to the Smokys. While we didn’t have any clouds at Clingman’s Dome this year, I was still pleased with the sunset shots and the iconic smoky look to the mountains. I’ll continue to visit the park but not every year as I have plans to hit the west coast again next year.
